The Instructional Designer is responsible for planning, designing and developing engaging learning experiences. The individual will help to develop, build and revise a rich library of off-the-shelf, instructor-led, blended, hybrid, and online training products, developed for professionals in banking and financial services. The Instructional Designer works in close collaboration with external subject matter experts and internal teams. Job Accountabilities The Instructional Designer is responsible for: Identifying instructional strategies that align with instructional goals and anticipated learning outcomes.Designing end-to-end learning solutions—including instructor-led, e-learning, blended, and hybrid formats—that incorporate best practices in adult learning theory and cognitive science.Conducting industry research and interviewing subject matter experts to translate findings into effective learning experiences.Applying appropriate interaction design and interactive learning principles to enhance engagement.Accommodating social, cultural, political, and other individual factors that may influence learning.Integrating existing instructional materials into the design where appropriate.Coordinating the review, revision, editorial, and document production processes.Communicating with team members on all phases of the project to prepare for a smooth product launch.Preparing the sales team to discuss the course, expected outcomes, and benefits with members and other customers.Maintaining project documentation and digital course files.Functioning as a resource for staff on assigned courses.Observing instructor-led classes to assess program effectiveness and evaluate instructor performance.Evaluating course feedback, recommending changes, and overseeing implementation of necessary enhancements.Ensuring courses and their development adhere to national or international licensing bodies.Abiding by all information technology policies and procedures.Performing other duties as assigned.Job QualificationsBachelor's degree with a Certificate in Instructional Design or equivalent practical experience. 3-5 years of experience as an instructional designer.In-depth knowledge of current and emerging adult learning theory and how it is put into practice in corporate learning.Intermediate to Advanced level proficiency in PC-based word processing and spreadsheet applications in a Windows environment.Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task and advance activities across multiple concurrent work streams.Experience with learning frameworks such as Adaptive Learning, ADDIE, SAM, or other learning development approaches. Experience in designing, developing, and testing e-learning content, including the use of course authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, and other commonly used solutions. Banking or financial services industry experience is helpful but not required.
