About the Position We are seeking an experienced IP paralegal, particularly with patent experience (worldwide), who can work remotely or in person.
Our desired qualifications are listed below, but you need not have all of this experience, unless it is noted as required.
Required: Minimum five years of experience as an intellectual property paralegal.
Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma required.
Required: Must have demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, initiative, be a self-starter, proactive, able to think independently, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Required: Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; and Adobe Acrobat.
Required: Detailed knowledge of U.S. patent, PCT, U.S. trademark and Madrid Protocol rules, regulations, and forms.
Experience navigating international patent office websites, a plus.
Experience with U.S. copyright rules, regulations, and forms, a plus.
Experience with intellectual property docketing systems, a plus.
Job Duties Prepare required paperwork for patent and trademark applications, and handle all client reporting.
Coordinate foreign patent and trademark filings and handle all client reporting.
Prepare and file U.S. copyright applications, assist with inquiries, and handle all client reporting.
Manage docket deadlines for assigned cases.
Communicate with attorneys, clients, inventors, and patent office representatives to resolve issues.
Assist with contracts/agreements.
