Duties
This is a temporary detail opportunity to develop agency level strategy within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of International Affairs (INA) Asia Division for issues and activities related to the People's Republic of China (PRC).
The incumbent will coordinate with relevant offices on the full range of CBP's authorities and priorities to develop an agency level strategic framework encompassing related policies and programs related to the PRC.The incumbent will perform research; draft briefing papers; coordinate with CBP and Department of Homeland Security (DHS)offices on input into the strategic framework documents; and interface with U.S. government interagency partners including the U.S. Intelligence Community.
Occasional travel is possible.

Qualifications Qualifications required: Knowledge of the makeup and international operations of DHS Agencies/Offices with extensive equities involving the PRC, including, but not limited to, PLCY, CBP, ICE, and TSA Knowledge of current U.S foreign policy objectives, programs, priorities, and relationships regarding the PRC Knowledge of U.S. foreign and security policy in the Indo-Pacific region.
Ability to establish liaisons and maintain relationships with officials throughout the foreign affairs community.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

Complete the DHS Joint Duty Assignment Progress Plan to include: Phase 1: Establish assignment objectives within the first 30 days of the JDA.
Phase 2: Complete a self-assessment of the duties performed at the mid-point of the JDA.
Phase 3: Complete a final review within the last 30 days of the JDA.
