Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software applicationsWork effectively as part of a team with a technical lead providing guidance and oversightProvide and receive feedback in code reviews to maintain high code quality and adherence to coding standardsContribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and practicesIdentify and evaluate new technologies for implementation that improve the stability, performance, and quality of the softwareIdentify and resolve software defects and performance issuesStay up-to-date with the latest software development trends and technologiesThis position is required to be onsite up to 40% of the time at customer facilities located on and near Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA. RequirementsNecessary Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field3 years of experience in programming, engineering, or related workProficiency in Java, C++, or similar object-oriented programming languageVersion control systems, such as GitBuild tools, such as Gradle or MavenExperience driving technical decisions, including the ability to break down problems, identify solutions, and communicate the process and conclusions to an engineering teamInitiative and the ability to work independently and collaborate within a teamAbility to communicate effectively via multiple mediums and with management, co-workers, and customers, both technical and non-technicalProficiency in writing clean code and leveraging best practices for implementation, documentation, and testingThe ability to obtain a US security clearance post start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Ability to travel at least one week per quarterBeneficial Skills and ExperienceExcellent problem analysis and solving skillsExcellent communication and teamworkExcellent organization, attention to detail, and time managementStrong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world use casesSolid understanding of computer systems and networksExperience in production quality coding standards and patterns.Passion for developing customer-focused solutionsExperience with relational and key value data stores, such as PostgreSQLGUI development experience with Java SwingExperience with NASA World Wind Java and/or OpenGLExperience with Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), Common Operational Picture (COP) platforms, and/or C5ISR platformsFamiliarity with WGS84 modeling and applicationsCTI is a rapidly growing company offering the following:
