Additional Information About the Role Progress West Hospital has an opportunity for a BC/BE OB Hospitalist to join our established program.
Practice Overview:Practice limited to inpatient obstetrical care, admitting and triaging patientsIncludes antepartum, labor and post-partum care of hospital patientsRotating schedule to include weekends, weekdays, nights and holidaysCombination of 12 and 24 hour shiftsApproximately 72 hours per two week pay periodObstetrics onlyCompensation & Benefit Highlights:Competitive hourly rateCME Allowance of $5000 annuallyMatching 401k/403b, 457b and Pension planMedical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Insurance and more4 weeks vacation, 6 major holidaysMalpractice insurance with tail coverage providedOverviewOpened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare's newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children's Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care.
Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks.
Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital's medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.
OB Physicians support the Women's Services area by providing house doctor responsibilities. This area, along with all departments within the hospital, supports the guiding principles of the hospital in providing care that is customized and reflects the patient's needs, values, and choices.
Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose Ensures optimal care and promotes safety of patients admitted to assigned service in cooperation with the private attending staff and nursing staff. Communicates with staff, patients, and families.
ResponsibilitiesManages the medical care of assigned patients.Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the health care team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.Performs and documents histories and physicals in the patient's medical record as required by hospital by-laws.Supervises and instructs medical students and residents assigned to service.
