About the Job: Labor & Employment Attorney We are seeking a seasoned Labor & Employment Attorney to join our prestigious law firm based in San Diego, CA. With a storied history of handling complex labor and employment matters for both private and public employers, we offer expert advice on a range of issues from employment litigation to workplace investigations and traditional labor law. This position will allow you to leverage your legal skills in a role that encompasses vigorous litigation and advisory services. You will work on diverse cases including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, manage writs of labor law compliance, and play a key role in shaping our client's workforce strategies. Compensation: $160,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Represent a diverse client base in labor and employment litigation matters including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, retaliation claims, and wage and hour disputes. Conduct thorough legal research, draft a variety of motions and pleadings, and prepare legal memoranda. Manage all facets of the discovery process and handle depositions as well as witness interviews. Provide advisory services on employment law compliance issues such as ADA, FMLA, CFRA, including guidance on COVID-related regulations, disability accommodations, and leave policies. Engage in labor relations activities including negotiations, handling grievances, and conducting arbitrations. Minimum Position Qualifications: 4-7 years of substantive experience in employment litigation. Profound knowledge of California employment law is essential. Familiarity with conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and managing discovery processes. Admission to the California State Bar. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Trial or arbitration experience is highly preferred. Skills: Exceptional legal research and writing skills. Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks. Proven capacity to negotiate and resolve complicated legal issues. Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity across all matters. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with a variety of clients and colleagues.
