Laundry Specialist

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE The schedule for this role is Sunday-Thursday from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
The Laundry Worker will pick up, deliver, sort, weigh, wash, dry, iron, fold, stack, and hang residents and community laundry. In this role, the laundry aide uses household and industrial laundry equipment as well as maintains the cleanliness of laundry areas. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current and existing federal and state regulations and established company policy and procedures.
THE MUST HAVES: Must possess, as a minimum, an 8th grade education One year of laundry experience preferred; experience with use of household and industrial washers and dryers Ability to pass a criminal background check as well as Colorado CAPS background check. WORK ENVIRONMENT : Works in all areas of the facility Moves intermittently during working hours Is subject to frequent interruptions Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances. Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc Communicates with the laundry personnel Works beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.) Attends and participates in continuing educational programs May be required to work on shifts other than the one which hired Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses Maintains a liaison with other department directors to adequately plan for food services/activities May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals We are an Equal Opportunity Employer
