Responsibilities

•Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action
•Appear in court on behalf of clients and argue motions during legal proceedings
•Get the appropriate legal documents ready for clients, such as brief, motions, and pleadings, as well as correspondence
•Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff
•Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution
•Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs

Qualifications

•Over 3 years of experience representing clients in criminal defense matters.

•Conducted a minimum of 20 preliminary hearings, 5 felony, and 10 misdemeanor jury trials.

•Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision
•Candidates must currently be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred
•Strong knowledge of legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis products is required
•Decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must
•Successful completion of accredited law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
degree with 2 years of related experience
