JOB SUMMARY:
Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of department and employees by performing the following duties:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and delegates work tasks. Delegates work assignments among qualified crewmembers. Communicates performance expectations in an effort to ensure proper completion of tasks. Communicates and coordinates with other departments or crafts as needed. Communicates resource needs and work plans to Supervision. Provides two-way communications between work team, supervisor, and other management and HR personnel.
Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs; reports non-compliance. Monitors employee's productivity, work habits. Leads work startup and stoppage, schedules breaks. Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools, equipment and other UO property. Maintains material inventories. Monitors compliance with wardrobe/grooming standards, driving policy, radio usage, and other UO policies.
Ensures proper completion of documentation including providing feedback for recognition and performance improvement. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support managerial and supervisory documentation.
Painted Faux Finishes such as wood graining, marbleizing, aging, sponging and rag rolling.
Field color Matching. Picks colors and mixes paint while using color 15% matching for desired assignment. Creates, maintains and uses painting documentation.
Drawing, layout and painting of backdrops and murals with either brush or airbrush. Paint or airbrush of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional fields and props. Preps surface to be painted. Consists of cleaning, scraping, caulking, applying putty, and sanding patching, priming and base painting (brush and roll) of surface.
Cleans up paint area. Consists of picking up used tarps, scraping, removing tape, cleaning brushes used, cleaning spills, resealing paint cans, and cleaning paint buckets. Then stores equipment/tools in designated storage area.
Maintains and shares job knowledge, assists in training developing new and current employees.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:
To provide a comprehensive scenic painting service resort wide which will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding Universal Orlando. Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of department.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED is required;
Associate's and Bachelor's degrees in P-Visual Arts, specializing in painting, drawing, or sculptures is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years experience considered 1st Tier.
5 years minimum experience considered 2nd Tier, providing work direction preferred;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
