Job Overview: Performs legal services for and on behalf of the Community as in-house attorney.
Supports other attorneys in the areas of contract law, employment law, intellectual property and trademark law, government relations, gaming law, and legal research.
Work, as directed by the Business Council or Deputy General Legal Counsel, on issues related to the daily operation of the Community's government departments and enterprises, and to appear, as directed by the Business Council or Deputy General Legal Counsel, before all federal, state, and tribal courts (excluding claims against the
United States), government agencies, and legislative bodies.

Job Requirements:
Reflects MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job:
Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
degree from an accredited law school required.
Licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota or licensed to practice law in another state with the ability to become licensed in the State of Minnesota within six months of hire.
At least 3 years of professional legal experience required.
Knowledge of legal principles and practices in the area of Federal Indian law, employment law, and commercial transactions preferred.
Strong writing and legal research skills required.
