Job Purpose: An attorney with approximately 2-3 years of law firm or in-house experience to support Wasserman's athlete/sports talent/creators representation divisions.
Primary duties will be to support the legal department's contracting functions by reviewing, editing and negotiating a variety of agreements for Wasserman's clients (including but not limited to athletes, coaches/executives, broadcasters, and social media/digital creators), and advising Wasserman agents and clients on various transactional and legal matters.
Wasserman's legal department has repeatedly received recognition from its in-house and external clients for its responsive, courteous and valuable support, and the successful candidate will have a commitment to client service that reflects our culture.
Duties: Review, draft and negotiate a variety of contracts (team (US and international), sponsorship/ endorsement, appearance, content, production, literary, social media/digital creator), deals and legal correspondence.
Anticipate legal and contract/deal issues, and design and execute strategies to remediate risk to Company and its clients.
Conduct research and analysis of specific legal questions and prepare memoranda and opinions setting forth research results, recommendations, and conclusions in a variety of legal areas.
Keep current on legislative issues, statutes, decisions, and other important legal developments that may affect Company's and/or its clients' interests.
Identify, research and analyze relevant federal, state and local requirements and translate into business solutions.
Assist with dispute resolution and litigation oversight.
Manage various client issues (e.g., immigration, family law, camps and clinics, real estate and business entities).
Manage agent registrations in conjunction with Company's paralegal.
Assist with oversight of risk management for various talent representation divisions.
Ensure compliance with Company's corporate policies and procedures.

Requirements: JD degree, admitted to practice law in the state in which located (must have evidence of good standing) Excellent contract negotiation and drafting skills Ability to effectively explain legal issues to internal stakeholders and Company clients Familiarity with a wide variety of general corporate and transactional work (familiarity with intellectual property is a plus) Ability to work collaboratively with others, and cooperatively with senior and executive-level staff Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently within a deadline Strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail Strong technical and presentation skills Advanced organizational skills and the ability to multi-task multiple priorities.
High emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
Well-developed communication skills and ability to interact positively with all types of people.
Approximately 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in private practice or an in-house legal department.
Base salary range: $105-125K, plus bonus potential if applicable for role.
Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc.
The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
