We are seeking a Legal Secretary for secretarial support via remote telework. In this role the ideal candidate will provide direct support to attorneys by gathering the appropriate information associated with a case, as well as file management, correspondence, transcription and entering time for billing purposes. Experience in workers' compensation law is preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Must have a positive, professional attitude and be detail-oriented and a self-starterAbility to communicate with clients and staff professionally and effectivelyExcellent organizational and file management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsJob Duties include, but are not limited to: Draft routine correspondence, file memos and legal documentsMaintain calendar and track deadlinesCreate and format pleadings, discovery and transactional documentsProvide administrative support for attorneys in court and at the officesCollaborate with vendorsFile pleadings in response to applicants' claims filedPrepare correspondence to clients regarding status and updates of active claimsAssist with settlement negotiationsAdministrative duties as they relate to the practice of lawQualifications: 2 or more years experience as a workers' compensation legal secretary preferredExperience assisting attorneys and/or executive staffProficiency in Word and ExcelWillingness/ability to learn other software and computer skills as necessary to meet office needsThe job location is California.
The anticipated hourly rate ranges from $18.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors.
