Duties and Responsibilities:Electrical Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
This includes identifying and resolving any electrical faults, replacing faulty components, and conducting tests to assess system functionality.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical problems and determine appropriate solutions.
Use specialized tools and testing equipment to identify malfunctions, analyze wiring diagrams, and trace circuits to locate faults.
Installation and Upgrades: Install and connect electrical equipment, machinery, and systems according to blueprints, specifications, and relevant electrical codes.
Assist with upgrading existing electrical systems or installing new systems as required.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all electrical work is performed in compliance with applicable safety codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Identify potential electrical hazards and take appropriate measures to eliminate or minimize risks.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
Generate reports detailing findings, recommended actions, and equipment condition.
Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and contractors to identify and resolve electrical issues.
Provide technical guidance and support to other team members as needed.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, such as power outages or electrical system failures.
Diagnose the cause, determine the appropriate remedial action, and implement repairs to restore normal operation.
Compliance with Policies and Procedures: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to electrical maintenance, safety, and equipment operation.
Stay informed of industry best practices and technological advancements in electrical systems.
Qualifications and Skills:High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical maintenance is preferred.
IUOE Local 39 union member or interest in membership Valid electrician's license or certification as per local regulations and requirements.
Proven experience as a maintenance electrician or similar role in a commercial or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of electrical principles, electrical codes, and safety procedures.
Proficiency in using electrical tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
Ability to interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Effective communication skills to interact with team members, contractors, and clients.
Physical strength and dexterity to work with electrical components and equipment in various locations and positions.
