JOB SUMMARY:
The Superintendent Maintenance leads a team of mechanical, electrical, and controls staff to ensure safe and efficient production. This role must comply with all safety policies and procedures including environmental to ensure Zero Harm Today. In addition, this role effectively resolves complex manufacturing problems and introduces innovative solutions. This role utilizes Continuous Improvement principles to streamline and improve manufacturing processes. This role executes under the company principles; Excellence, Integrity, Collaboration, and Endurance to implement capital projects that will support the strategic company goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Comply with Safety Policies and ProceduresOversees and directs all maintenance related functions to ensure plant operations can maintain safety complianceManaging safety incidents to ensure protocol is followed and maintainedUtilize problem solving techniques to resolve complex manufacturing problemsWork with cross functional teams to correct manufacturing issuesResponsible for plant safety compliance, including air pollution, health department regulations and OSHA requirementsCommunicate and enforce company policies to employeesInspect, monitor, and control the quality of workmanship and completed tasks to ensure it meets company standardsImplement and maintain plant preventive maintenance programMaintain monthly parts and supply budget in excess $60K and labor costsFully proficient with all machineryUtilizes manufacturing Lean principles to minimize operating costs by efficiently maintain spare part levelsOversee the usage and availability of PPE ensure the best quality at the best costProficient knowledge and understanding of all quality assurance procedures and requirementsImplement changes in working conditions to improve the effectiveness of efficiencyResponsible for maintenance department housekeeping ensuring a safe work environmentDrive Continuous Improvement by executing Gemba Walks and holding 5S eventsRead and write mechanical drawingsUtilize project management softwareResponsible for administration of discipline and attendance policies per PoliciesLead daily meetingAssists and develops maintenance staffing as needed and directedActively participate and execute as needed in weekly staff meetingsCommunicate with all aspects of the operations, from CEO to plant personnelMaintain contractor complianceSustain plant facilitiesMaintain Westlake Engineering standards in accordance with the latest industry and legal requirements for plant operations and capital projectsDevelop innovative solutions to drive energy costs downMaintain a fleet of mobile equipment that include: Electric Pallet Jacks, Sit down forklifts, Sweeper, and Front-End LoaderIssuing work permits for nonstandard workAll other assigned duties by Plant ManagerKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Possess Westlake core valuesExcellent leadership, interpersonal and organization skillsTotal Productive MaintenanceComputer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft OfficeCAD and SAP enterprise software desiredExcellent communication skills, written and verbalPrevious management and supervisory experience requiredAbility to manage capital projects from inception to completionAbility to implement changesFix Preventative Maintenance desiredInventory and related budget experienceMechanically inclinedOSHA safety requirementsLean Manufacturing/Six Sigma experience desiredKnowledge of regulatory or environmental requirementsPrecast concrete industry desiredAutomated material handling system desiredEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $90K to $117K. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits).
