OverviewThe Manager of Partners Equity will manage, review, and perform various analysis and accounting functions as it relates to the firm's Partners' Equity general ledger accounts.
Due to the sensitive nature of all Partner information, the Manager of Partners Equity will maintain and enforce an exceptionally high standard of security and confidentiality.
The scope of this role includes a wide variety of accounting, reporting, and internal control oversight.
ResponsibilitiesManage and review Partner's equity general ledger accounts and monthly GL reconciliations.Review and approve all Partner miscellaneous equity costs (1,500+ annually).
Audit the firm's expense accounts to ensure proper posting of all Partner costs.Manage and review monthly, quarterly, and annual partner draw calculations for distribution.Ensure month-end and annual partners equity close process runs smoothly and accurately.Manage and assist in reconciling the firm's annual distributed net income to ensure all income has been accounted for and assigned to a Partner.Maintain and communicate all Partnership Agreement records; prepare agreements as well as track and store agreements.Assist in the coordination of onboarding new partners as well as preparation and coordination of data for partner departures.Manage and assist with preparation of the firm's partner equity accounts and roll-forward for the Firm's Audited Financial Statements.Oversee the Firm's capital contributions and capital program; build working relationships with outside loan vendors.Work with the Firm's Policy Committee on various partner compensation analyses.Review and assist with preparation of Partner Long-Term Disability program.Collaborate and consult with the internal tax team on partner compensation allocations with respect to the preparation of the Firm's U.S. federal, state, and international partnership tax returns.Evaluate internal controls and make recommendations for new controls and improvements to existing controls.Develop and oversee departmental processes and procedures.Lead department project teams designed to streamline workflow and/or resolve issues; assist with various firm and/or departmental projects and initiatives as assigned.Participate in firm-wide and departmental projects and initiatives.QualificationsBachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting.Ten plus years of related work experience, partnership accounting/professional services experience preferred.Superior computer software skills with a particular expertise in Excel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Collaborator with a strong work ethic and dedication.Essential CapabilitiesMaintain and enforce strict confidentiality of information and discussions.Work in a self-directed manner, producing an accurate, well-documented work product often under time-sensitive deadlines.Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including management and support staff.Must be flexible to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.Ability to proactively plan, organize and conduct multiple related activities.Compensation and Total Rewards PackageRopes & Gray is proud to offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package to our business support team members.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below in alpha order and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting.
In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance.
The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
