Environmental Resources Management, Inc. (ERM) is currently hiring Managing Consultant, Scientist, Biological Field Services for projects located in Northern California. This position focuses on working closely in collaboration with a larger team of natural resources specialists providing environmental services for various client projects and construction sites. This role requires providing high-quality analytical support to ERM clients through close work with other team members. Assignments will include desk-based work as well as travel to conduct fieldwork (potentially up to 70% of the time). Field crews will conduct fieldwork in a safe manner in alignment with ERM and the client's safety expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide technical consulting and permitting support in a variety of sectors including mining, oil and gas, power and transmission, and renewable/alternative energy. Perform project activities to contribute to the successful completion of client deliverables through the collection of field data, organizing and analyzing collected data, literature review, and report writing. Complete work assignments in accordance with ERM's management system, format and quality standards. Utilize digital tools for data collection and mapping including ArcGIS Online, Survey123, etc. Commitment to teamwork and ability to follow established processes and protocols while also confident with identifying process improvements to provide benefit to the client. Permit application assistance, as requested. Other duties as assigned or required. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in natural science field of study preferred. 4+ years of relevant experience. Proficient in computer software including Excel and MS Word. Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and work independently with minimal supervision on projects with expedited deadlines. Strong communication and organizational skills. Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health & Safety protocols. Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on challenging terrain. Ability to work weekends, on-call as needed. Ability to work in the field for an extended period. Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 7+ years of relevant experience. For the Managing Consultant, Scientist, Biological Field Services position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $87,316 – $96,041. An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).
