We are currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer. Position Summary: Join the ever-growing and experienced research and development team here at Six Sigma, and become an expert in the niche field of soldering.
Explore the depths of deceptively simple parts and processes, identifying their complex failure points and critical parameters.
Work with our diverse team, including Quality, Materials, Process, and Automation Engineering, to implement practical solutions to the process problems you find, ensuring our products are the highest quality they can be.
Responsibilities:
Analyze, improve, and optimize our in-house solder column manufacturing processes.
Identify critical defects and their root causes in our products, and work towards implementing long-term solutions to those root causes.
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design new (and improve current) custom machinery used in our processes.
Work with production operators to implement needed process improvements in realistic ways for our in-house production line.
Qualify and implement new processes in accordance with company standards.
Generate, maintain, and execute project plans for implementing process improvements.
Create documentation detailing the science behind the processes, work instructions, and qualification reports.
Qualifications: Education: B.S.
in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent.
Experience: Two plus years of experience preferred.
General Requirements:
Solid understanding of the theories and applications of materials properties, metallurgy, metrology, and thermodynamics.
Experience working with solders or solder materials is a plus.
Skilled in appropriate and accurate use of measurement toolsets (e.g., force gauge, caliper, micrometer, optical comparator, reticle, toolmakers microscope).
Experience conducting root cause analysis.
Strong and logical trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in project management.
Detail-oriented.
Fast learner, self-motivated, and accomplishment driven.
Ability to work productively in a small-team setting, and occasionally work solo.
Skilled in use of MS Office computer applications.
Physical Attributes Required:
Sitting, standing, walking, and computer use up to 8 hours/day.
Physical ability to lift 25+ pounds.
