Position: Market Conduct - Junior Compliance Officer

Job Summary:

As the Market Conduct Junior Compliance Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the growth and development of the global Market Conduct compliance function at Glencore.
The role will report to the Market Conduct Project Manager, whose responsibility includes managing internal initiatives across Market Conduct advisory, regulatory, and surveillance teams as well as coordinating interactions between Glencore and their MIMF (Market Conduct) independent compliance monitor.
This role will be critical in delivering a Program that mitigates the risks of market abuse and insider dealing and meets the requirements of the independent monitor.


Responsibilities: Support existing projects across the Market Conduct Compliance function's advisory, regulatory and surveillance teams in collaboration with subject matter experts.
Support the successful delivery of the MIMF Monitor's recommendations, including the documentation and tracking of remediation efforts.
Foster positive working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including the front office, compliance, legal, IT, finance, audit and other functions and relevant departments, to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
Support the testing and documentation of internal controls and processes.
Support the development and review of governance documents and training materials, as needed.
Draft reporting and presentation materials, develop and document project plans and internal dependencies, proactively identify project risks and devise contingency plans, leverage appropriate tools to ensure efficiency and drive accountability throughout the team.
Essential qualifications and experience required for the Role. Bachelor's degree (further professional education an advantage) A minimum of 3 years of experience in a project management or change management role, preferably with exposure to market abuse, surveillance, investigations, compliance or regulatory matters in a global, geographically diverse corporate environment.
Organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic team player.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
Knowledge of compliance monitoring, risk assessment, audit, or assurance processes.
Familiarity with international legal and regulatory frameworks, specifically those related to commodities trading, would be beneficial.
Experience working in connection with an independent compliance monitorship would be beneficial.
Experience using project management software (e.g.
Monday, Smartsheet, Jira Work Management) preferred.
Willingness to travel to Glencore's operations to support on-site visits for up to 20% of your time.
Compensation: This position can expect between $110-150K annual salary.
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained.
Market and organizational factors are also considered.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
