Work in an environment where you are part of a community and appreciated by the people you work with - residents and coworkers - every day.Summary:Under the guidance of the Director of Nursing the incumbent of this position will oversee the nursing staff to provide the professional nursing care for the residents of the long-term care facility in accordance with the guidelines set down by the company and the government entities who oversee regulation of long-term care facilities.
Upholds the philosophy, core values and goals of the organization and ensures the Christian Mission of Lutheran Senior Services is realized so that "Older Adults Live Life to the Fullest".ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and monitor the daily activities of the nursing services department personnel.Maintain consistent application of Lutheran Senior Services policies; participate in coaching/counseling of nursing service personnel as necessary.Participate in the development, maintenance and updating of written policy and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department.Perform administrative duties, including, but not limited to workforce performance evaluations, determining work assignments and scheduling, medical record documentation, completion of RAI/MDS, and other written and oral reports as required.Participate in direct resident care when necessary.Participate in Committee meetings as required.Function in the capacity of the Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse, and /or MDS Coordinator in his/her absence.Assist with in-service training of the nursing services, department personnel.Participate in survey (inspections) made by authorized agencies.Maintains a safe work environment; practices good infection control procedures.
Must demonstrate, upon request, the fundamentals of disaster preparedness as outlined in the Disaster Preparedness Plan.Maintain the confidentiality of all pertinent resident and employee information to assure their privacy is protected.Support and uphold all federal, state and local regulatory laws and standards.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesTo perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.Two-Four years of related supervisory experience in a geriatric environment.Must be CPR certified upon hire or within 31 days of beginning employment with LSSMust hold a current state applicable nursing license.Demonstrates the initiative and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Must be able to follow direction written or oral.
Must have patience, tact, flexibility, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.

Mason Pointes certified beds are greatly reducing, therefore, a full time MDS nurse is not required.
This nurse manager WILL be in in "on call" rotation.
