Mechanical Design Engineer

Design Engineer (Contract to Direct or Direct Hire)
Location: Copiague, NY
Salary: $110,000 - $145,000 depending upon experience
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and devices for boilers, heat exchangers and pressure vessels

Responsibilities - Utilize CAD software for design
- Conduct simulations using tools to evaluate the performance of mechanical systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
- Contribute to the development of innovative mechanical solutions
- Review current designs and components prior to daily release to production
- Generate drawings and submittals.

- Coordinating with shop foreman, sales team, QC manager and other parties involved in the whole process.

- Preparing and maintaining the record of manufacturer s data reports.

- Reviewing material test reports for the items received at the factory.
Qualifications: - Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related field experience
- Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis, 5-10 years of experience - Knowledge of ASME codes (Part 1, 4 and 8) mechanical engineering principles - Experience in AutoCAD.

- Experience in understanding using formulas to calculate, when required, to comply with local and ASME codes and regulations for pressure vessels and tanks.

- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
