Responsible for supporting the development, specification, design, and testing of machinery and equipment related machinery. This includes mechanical concept development, detailed design and analysis, engineering drawing creation and checking, Bills of Material development and issuance, Change Order initiation and completion, and Value Engineering for all new and existing products.
Project Management: Own small-scale projects, taking them from concept to implementation.
Technical Analysis: Conduct specific analyses such as bearing life calculations and timing diagrams.
Value Engineering: Optimize designs to meet cost targets while maintaining functionality.
Support and Collaboration: Assist in the build and commissioning of machinery, addressing in-house and in-field inquiries.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with engineering, project management, vendors, manufacturing, sales, and service personnel.
Qualifications:
2+ years of proven experience in a comparable role
Proficient in 3D solid modeling and drafting software such as Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or ProE
Competent use of document control systems - preferably Autodesk Vault
Working knowledge of industry design drafting standards such as ANSI Y14.5 (1994 or later)
Experience in the design of Mechanical Machinery.
Experienced with designing parts to shop fabrication methods and techniques.
Desired:
Autodesk Inventor 2020 (or later)
Autodesk Vault
Competence assigning tolerances and working knowledge stack-up analysis
Quality and Engineering Tools like FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Statistical Process Control, among others
Conduct Finite Element Analysis on mechanical designs
4+ years or more of industrial experience in the design of High-Speed Rotating Machinery or related field
