We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Merchandising/Administrative Assistant to join our Miles team.
This position offers a dynamic role within the merchandising field, providing crucial support to our Merchandising team.
The ideal candidate will be organized, possess excellent communication skills, and have a proactive approach to administrative and merchandising tasks.
Start Date: August 2024 or September 2024
Location: Chicago, IL
Weekly Hours: 30 to 40 hours
Hourly Rate: $20.00 to $25.00
Key Responsibilities:
* Organize and manage merchandise samples, coordinating the distribution of incoming/outgoing samples to/from factories and customers until production, including handling various mailing and packaging needs.
* Provide administrative support to Miles Team
* Assist the merchandising team with day-to-day tasks, including product research, sample management, and data entry.
* Support office operations with administrative duties such as filing, scheduling, and coordinating meetings.
* Maintain inventory records and manage product samples to ensure accurate tracking and availability.
* Prepare reports and presentations for merchandising meetings, ensuring all materials are accurate and professional.
* Collaborate with customer and overseas sourcing teams in the product development process from concept to shipment for categories including, but not limited to: Apparel, Footwear, Pet, Outdoor, Camping, Home Textiles, Dcor, Furniture, Kitchen, and Household.
* Manage office supplies, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained, and orders are placed as needed.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Merchandising, Business, or a related field preferred.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
* Previous experience in retail, merchandising, or office administration is preferred.
* Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
