The Continuous Improvement / Industrial Engineering Sr. Manager manages the labor/process, defining the RTR (required to run) based on demand, Cycle Times, OEE, Overall Efficiency Equipment, OA (Overall Availability), and kaizens. Design the process (labor and materials) based on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Work with safety, quality, scheduling, and operations to determine the best way to run the lines. Able to apply and teach Industrial Engineering principles. Required Analytical Mindset. Prioritize and facilitate process improvement in all areas with a focus on strategy execution, competitive improvement, and innovation. Management and facilitation of cross-functional teams are crucial to success. Advising executive teams on progress, problem-solving, solution development, identification and measurement of performance targets, plan development, and data analysis are project-related skills. Overall communication capability to all members of the organization and the ability to create standardized methods and approaches for project management processes are additional requirements.
Position Responsibilities: Manage, train, and mentor managers overseeing different CI projects.Manage the design process based on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.Dissemination and implementation of Lean Manufacturing Principles throughout the factory, starting from Assembly requirements.Drive the cultural transformation of the organization through systematic training, sponsorship, and coaching of continuous improvement projects.Maintain a dynamic audit process of key metrics & processes and communicate findings with factory management.Work closely with the ME organization to help lay out an optimized vision and plan for factory production flow for the current state as well as for future growth. The position reports to the Continuous Improvement Director of Assembly.Develop and manage a Cost Reduction Management System.Ensure the healthy constant flow of Process Improvement ideas being scoped, staffed & implemented to deliver targets.Develop model Assembly Lines, processes, and leaders to benchmark throughout the factory and to other Daikin locations.Participate in additional projects/activities with internal & cross-functional teams to support ongoing business needs.Nature & Scope: Ensure work is aligned with the Director's expectations, goals, and vision.Develop and drive processes for implementing strategic plans.Develop departmental plans, including business, production, operational, and/or organizational priorities in fast-changing businesses and/or regulatory environments.Receive assignments in the form of objectives where independent thought and judgment are required for determining the appropriate course of action.Work on complex issues and projects.Provide guidance and training to managers, supervisors, and high-level professionals.Accountability for multiple departments or areas.Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines.Knowledge & Skills: Able to develop capacity analysis based on technical inputs such as CT, OEE, OA, Scheduling, MIX, etc.Provide reports related to labor definition.Able to execute and teach Industrial Engineering principles.Required Analytical Mindset.Knowledge of Lean principles and tools (cycle-time reduction, line balancing, set-up reduction, pull product support, Kanban implementation, material handling techniques, and just-in-time delivery).Excellent leadership skills; able to envision, develop, direct, manage, delegate responsibility and authority, and motivate an organization.Proficient in MS Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Working knowledge of MS Project, AutoCad, and Mini-Tab.Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis – able to convert data into information and effectively communicate it.Ability to solve urgent and chronic problems, both individually and as part of cross-functional teams.Effective Project Management and Collaboration skills among all levels of the organization.Proven prioritization and organizational skills - capable of managing multiple inputs and directions to deliver results.Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethics, and integrity on the job.Experience: 12 plus years of experience in Industrial Engineering management and implementing lean manufacturing tools and techniques in manufacturing environments.10 plus years in a leadership/management role preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment.Education/Certification: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
