Description: The Reentry Systems Engineering Manager will lead a team of systems engineers and be responsible for technical management, planning (Cost/Schedule), risk management, resource deployment/alignment, and staffing for the dedicated Reentry W93/Mk7 Systems Engineering group within the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Reentry Systems Engineering organization.
As the Reentry Mk7 Systems Engineering Manager, you will:
Manage the W93/Mk7 Systems Engineering organization under the direction of the Mk7 Program Manager and W93/Mk7 Chief Systems EngineerHave supplementary responsibilities for Reentry Systems Engineering Integration & Services, Reentry Independent Review Boards, Reentry Requirements / Verification, Risk and Opportunity management, and Reentry InterfacesReport to the Senior Manager for Reentry Systems Engineering & DesignThe organization is distributed between Denver CO and Valley Forge, PA. Travel between sites may be required.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering or related fieldExperience interfacing with Program leadership, customer counterparts and/or contractorsSupporting or leading systems engineering design reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR)Demonstrated Systems Engineering experienceDemonstrated experience in developing high-performance team and leading culture change in the organizationDemonstrated ability to develop a collaborative working environment across business units and with external customers/counterpartsDesired Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of the FBM program and Trident II (D5) Reentry SystemFamiliarity with the Navy SSP Reentry customer10+ years' total experience, including 2 years demonstrated engineering leadership experience, 5 years of experience in the application of System Engineering processes and disciplinesSupporting or leading technical investigationsTechnical system requirements (i.e. Interface control documents, requirements databases, or functional/physical requirements)Requirements creation, management, bi-directional traceability, and verification planning & executionAbility to plan strategically and translate these strategies into daily, weekly, and monthly tactical actions and tasks.Electronics, software, and/or mechanical design experienceDemonstrated experience leading a large problem investigation and root cause analysis effortAbility to motivate and successfully energize a teamGenerating Basis-Of Estimates (BOEs) and providing proposal supportCost Account Management (CAM) certificationProven track record of effective customer coordination and collaborationDemonstrated experience utilizing IBM rational tools (DOORS)Demonstrated experience with MBSE tools and process (Cameo, SysML)Familiarity with Weapon SpecsSecurity Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
