Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Modernization Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join our dynamic team.
The TPM will collaborate closely with clients and internal team members to drive the successful delivery of Mechanized Al's infrastructure and application modernization projects. The ideal candidate will have a blend of strong technical expertise, exceptional project management skills, and a strong understanding of Al and machine learning technologies.
Key Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end delivery of Mechanized Al infrastructure and application modernization projects Oversee the migration of virtual machines (VMS) to containers and the modernization of legacy applications (e.g., .NET, COBOL, Java) to modern technology stacks Coordinate the integration of generative Al capabilities into clients' modernization efforts, ensuring seamless adoption Collaborate with enterprise clients to gather technical and functional requirements and translate them into actionable plans for the technical team Develop and maintain project scope, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and resource plans to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of modernization projects Serve as the primary contact between clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals Lead cross-functional project teams, delegating tasks effectively and aligning resources with project goals Engage with Al and LLM (Large Language Model) teams to improve automation, documentation, and code modernization outcomes Establish and maintain best practices to ensure code quality, security, and compliance with organizational and industry standards Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track Facilitate regular status meetings and provide detailed project updates to internal and external stakeholders (technical and non-technical)Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and feedback loops among project teams. Continually refine project workflows and delivery processes, leveraging lessons learned and stakeholder feedback Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field 4+ years of experience as a Modernization TPM in a client-facing role or consulting environment 3+ years of recent (last 10 years), hands-on experience as a software developer working with legacy code bases (e.g., .NET, Visual Basic, COBOL, Java) Proven experience planning and executing modernization/migration projects from legacy tech stacks to modern tech stacks Understanding of Al/ML concepts, tools, and practical applications Proven ability to gather and document technical requirements and translate them into actionable tasks for engineering teams Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Jira) and Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, XP) Experience overseeing modernization project timelines, resource allocations Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams Cl/C2 (advanced/proficient) level English is required Preferred Qualifications: Strong understanding of legacy code patterns, standards, and antipatterns Strong understanding of modern code patterns, standards, antipatterns, and architecture 1+ year working in Al/ML related projects and with Data Scientists Some experience with Generative Al and LLMs Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile Scrum Master)
