Memorial Hermann offers a unique program designed to transition the new graduate, or respiratory care therapist with less than twelve months of work experience, from the academic setting to the professional environment working with neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients.
Our program offers a comprehensive 6-month training program that includes professional development and didactic clinical competency enhancement, with the oversight of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) preceptor and dedicated RCP Clinical Education Resource Specialist.
The residency program will prepare participants to take care of acutely ill and injured patients in today's increasingly complex healthcare environment.
New graduates from our Respiratory Care Residency Program will participate in robust clinical experiences in patient care practices with appropriate support systems for a successful transition from respiratory student to a professional Respiratory Care Practitioner.Additional opportunities for growth include a competitive clinical ladder program to advance your career along with additional educational enhancements and trainings.Job DescriptionEligibility & RequirementsGraduation from an accredited RCP program in the last year.Less than twelve months of work experience.Current and unrestricted State of Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License or temporary Respiratory Care Practitioner license.Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR (American Heart Association).Additional certifications may be required based on respiratory unit requirements.
