About the Job: Of Counsel - Litigation Attorney Located in San Diego, CA, with the possibility of working from Torrance or Downtown Los Angeles, we are actively seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our distinguished litigation team. This role is ideal for a professional with a solid track record in handling complex civil and commercial litigation cases. As part of our team, you will engage in challenging work defending clients in high-stakes litigation encompassing class actions and product liability, particularly within the pharmaceuticals and medical devices sectors. Compensation: $175,000.00 - $225,000.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Represent clients in complex litigation, products liability defense, and class action cases. Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests, and other key litigation documents. Prepare for, take, and defend depositions; manage document production; and argue motions effectively. Collaborate with a team of skilled trial lawyers experienced in jury trials across state and federal courts in California. Develop comprehensive litigation strategies and manage cases from inception through to trial, ensuring meticulous preparation and execution at all trial stages. Minimum Position Qualifications: JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record. Bar Admission in California (must be in good standing). At least 8 years of substantive experience in complex litigation, class actions, and products liability. Proven track record in products liability defense, particularly with issues related to the Song-Beverly Act, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills, coupled with strong communication abilities and comprehensive case management experience from inception to trial. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in mid-size to large law firm environments is highly regarded. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior attorneys and support staff. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously. Expertise in leveraging legal technologies and case management software to enhance efficiency and outcomes. Adept at negotiating settlements and favorable disputes resolutions. Skills: Superb analytical skills and attention to detail. Advanced research abilities.
