Special Education Teacher (Substantially Separate Program) Location: Westwood, MA Position Type: Full-Time Grade Levels: Kindergarten - 5th Grade Program Type: In-Person Only Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in a substantially separate program for students in grades K-5. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique learning requirements. Create a positive, engaging, and adaptive classroom environment that supports the academic and social-emotional growth of students. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning. Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instruction as necessary to meet the needs of each student. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and caregivers to build strong partnerships and ensure transparency regarding student progress. Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in special education. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred). Valid state teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting (K-5 preferred). Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
