DescriptionThe Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking to hire two outstanding clinical neurologists to work with multiple sclerosis patients at the University of Washington Medical Center.
These are full-time appointments and are Open rank (without tenure due to funding).
The UW Medicine MS Center is a multi-disciplinary care specialty center for Multiple Sclerosis and related CNS autoimmune disorders awarded for its level of quality of care by the National MS Society and has repeatedly received Patient Satisfaction Excellence Awards.
These individuals will be a member of a busy academic service performing a variety of clinical duties including outpatient clinical care at the UW Medicine Multiple Sclerosis Center at Northwest Hospital and general neurology inpatient attending at UWMC and/or Harborview Medical Center.
University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
This is a full-time appointment and is Open rank (without tenure due to funding).
The rank is commensurate with qualification and experience.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).
Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The base salary range for this position in this title will be $18,320 - $19,657 per month ($219,840 to $235,884 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).
Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The base salary range for this position in this title will be $20,199 - $22,881 per month ($242,388 to $274,572 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Our salaries are benchmarked based on the AAMC scale.
Other compensation associated with this position may include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance, Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.
The anticipated start date of this appointment is August 1, 2024.
QualificationsRequires an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
Completion of a clinical multiple sclerosis/neuroimmunology training program is required.
Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
Requires expertise working with patients with multiple sclerosis.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Candidates must be either board eligible or board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
