Optometry Tech & Admin Assistant Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Cooper Clinic is looking to add an Optometry Tech & Administrative Assistant to our thriving team!
The Optometry Tech & Administrative Assistant provides support for optometrist and eye technician's daily activities, as well as other administrative tasks.
This may include other departments in the clinic, specifically dermatology and sleep medicine.
Provide coverage for the eye technician as needed.
This will include preparing patients for their eye exam; scans; testing; and helping with contract lens trials and prescriptions.
Optometry Tech & Administrative Assistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Patient scheduling, transport, billing, and referrals.
•Consistently provides superior internal and external customer service.
•Organizes and maintains patient communication and preparation for exam day through email and phone calls.
•Collects patient history and inputs patient data into the E H R.
•Records visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and auto-refraction.
•Measures the prescription in patients' glasses using a lensometer.
•Obtains retinal photos and OCT scans and uploads both to the optometrist E H R.
•Cleans/Sanitizes exam equipment for each patient.
•Helps with contact lens trials, order contact lens trials, dispenses trials, and assists with contact lens insertion and removal.
•Stocks contact lens trial sets, drops, samples, and cleaning supplies.
•Assist with prescription requests.
•Maintains a working knowledge of all services that are offered within the clinic as well as other services around campus.
•Keeps patients informed of any delays throughout the day.
•Maintains confidentiality of all clientele.
Requirements
The ideal Optometry Tech & Administrative Assistant candidate will possess:
•Bachelor's or associate degree preferred
•Medical office or physician practice preferred
•Optometry/ophthalmology experience is a plus
•Previous in-person customer service experience required
•Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
•Strong organizational, time management and attention to detail skills.
•Professional appearance and demeanor
•Ability to work in group setting as well as work independently.
•Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
