Who we are Zus is a shared health data platform designed to accelerate healthcare data interoperability by providing easy-to-use patient data via API, embedded components, and direct EHR integrations. Founded in 2021 by Jonathan Bush, co-founder and former CEO of athenahealth, Zus partners with HIEs and other data networks to aggregate patient clinical history and then translates that history into user-friendly information at the point of care. We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team and provide critical support across various legal functions, enabling us to scale effectively and maintain high compliance standards. As a Paralegal at Zus Health, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our General Counsel across a diverse range of activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced health tech environment while working with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and has experience handling contract reviews, compliance documentation, and legal administrative tasks.
\n As part of our team, you will Manage the customer contracting process, including the performance of customer diligence, creation of Zus's customer Order Forms, and handling of legal and privacy requestsConduct initial reviews of vendor contracts, identify key legal risks, and coordinate with the General Counsel for final approvalOversee our Equity Program, including processing stock grants, options, and ownership changesPrepare memos and summaries to assist the General Counsel in decision-makingSupport the drafting of compliance policies, identification of potential legal risks, and maintenance of audit controlsConduct research on legal and regulatory issues related to our business use casesAssist in drafting and updating HR policies, handling employee issues, and maintaining compliance with labor regulations You're a good fit becauseStrong knowledge of contract law and familiarity with reviewing BAAs and vendor agreements 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in a health tech, SaaS, or similar fast-paced environmentExperience with compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA)Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detailAbility to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote settingBachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program
\n$70,000 - $90,000 a year
While we're a remote first company, this person will need to collaborate face to face with colleagues, prospects and customers. That could be a few times a month or a few times a quarter depending on what the business needs.
