Paralegal Supervisor (Citywide)

The Criminal Defense Practice of The Legal Aid Society has openings in each of the five boroughs for a Paralegal Supervisor to provide supervision, training and oversight of Litigation Assistants and Paralegal II staff within each trial office.
The Paralegal Supervisor is a member of the trial office supervisory team and supports the general management and operation of the office.
The Paralegal Supervisor will work closely with the Director of Paralegal Services in evaluating current paralegal practice and developing new protocols and strategies to respond to changing needs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with the Director of Paralegal Services to develop standardized training, practices and protocols across the boroughs Work closely with local complex attorney supervisors, complex administrators, and borough administrators to facilitate client services Work closely with the Discovery Unit to provide support for the Litigation Assistants Provide individual supervision to Litigation Assistants and Paralegal II staff Create and support new approaches to meeting staff and client needs Monitor Paralegal II and Litigation Assistant work and caseloads Assess Litigation Assistant requests received from attorneys through LawManager and assign work to Litigation Assistants based caseload and capacity Participate in decisions regarding allocation of the paralegal resources Ensure accountability and maintenance of practice standards Identify and create opportunities for staff development Provide emergency office and case coverage Initiate and coordinate special projects Provide in-service training and case consultation Conduct case reviews and performance evaluations Participate in staffing and personnel decisions Maintain small caseload Develop and implement procedures and policies Participate in supervisory and management meetings Represent the Practice at external meetings and conferences Other duties as assigned Professional Development and other duties as assigned Participate in continuous professional development Continuously learn about forms of bias in the workplace and demonstrate affirmative behaviors that support an inclusive work environment Other duties as assigned TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Prior paralegal related experience REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Salary Range/ Salary: $75,633- $102,203 SALARY AND BENEFITS
