Summary of Position SIGN-ON INCENTIVE PROGRAM: $1,000 sign-on incentive upon hire

Under general supervision, the purpose of the job is to perform skilled landscaping, construction, maintenance and repair tasks related to park, trail, athletic field, public open space and grounds development and maintenance.


Essential Functions

Performs routine to complex general and preventative maintenance, cleaning, and/or preparation of equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
Prepares and maintains athletic fields and park grounds and all associated amenities.
Trims trees and shrubs and performs basic landscape installation and maintenance.
Operates light and heavy equipment (saws, weed eaters, drills, edgers).
Monitors, maintains and repairs playground and park structures.
Perform inspections and repairs complex irrigation issues.
Plans and develops improvements, along with the methods and procedures necessary to achieve those improvements, for parks and athletic fields.
Monitors and maintains inventory levels of equipment, supplies, and materials.
Performs building maintenance.
Assists in the preparation, operation and takedown of special events hosted by the City.
Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.
Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
Must report to work for duty outside normally scheduled work hours in response to natural disasters, emergencies or critical incidents as determined by City Administration.
Minimum QualificationsRequires High School diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by two (2) years of landscaping, construction or maintenance experience or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Texas Driver's License.
Requires a Certified Pesticide Applicator License issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).
