Mendon Truck Leasing and Rental, a branch of PETIT FORESTIER GROUP, a full-service leasing and rental company, is searching for a Parts Specialist to be in charge of the receipt, storage, and issuance of parts, supplies, and equipment essential in the timely support of trucks, vans, and equipment.
This role is responsible for procuring, receiving, stocking, and issuing parts and equipment for specialized motorized equipment.
This is an on-site position at our Bronx location.
Responsibilities: Coordinate with the Branch Manager to ensure the branch is supplied with applicable parts providing a profitable parts department.Monitor the movement of stocked parts; monitor new vehicles and equipment entering the fleet and present vehicles and equipment leaving the fleet.Maintain ongoing computerized inventory records.Conduct physical inventory of all stock parts and supplies.Oversee ordering and maintenance of stock and non-stock parts through outside vendors in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Check the delivery of parts and supplies against the invoices to ensure they were billed and shipped correctly.
Build relationships between sellers and branches for a productive operation.Solicit quotes from vendors and document.Arrange outside labor services for outsourced work.Submit warranty claims for trucks and equipment still under the original equipment warranty.
Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities in the department.Maintain a safe environment by upholding all safety standards and procedures.Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Experience working with diversified vehicle parts supply and inventory control, including fleet maintenance technical or mechanical experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.A valid Driver's License (preferred).Knowledge of vehicle parts.Thorough knowledge of the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials and equipment and the proper supply and inventory operations procedures.Considerable knowledge of computerized inventory record keeping including basic electronic data processing and cost accounting techniques.Knowledge of basic accounting principles and ability to make mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
Ability to evaluate the merits of competitive products.Ability to apply supply and inventory management procedures and practices effectively in storing and issuing materials and parts.Ability to plan and maintain the supply of components and materials to ensure timely and effective support of maintenance requirements.Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to maintain accurate and legible inventory and stock records.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Strong written/oral communication and organizational skillsResults-driven and customer-focused mindset.Ability to prioritize tasks well.
