Salary: $60,000 - 70,000/year This position allows for 2 days per week remote / work from home. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist with hands-on experience in Costpoint to manage and process payroll for our organization. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, tax compliance, reporting, and data management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Costpoint payroll systems and be adept at managing payroll-related issues while adhering to relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
\n ResponsibilitiesProcess bi-weekly/monthly payroll for all employees using Costpoint payroll software, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.Review timekeeping data and verify hours worked, deductions, benefits, and overtime.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws by accurately calculating payroll taxes, deductions, and withholdings.Maintain and update employee records, including payroll information, tax forms, deductions, and direct deposit details.Generate and review payroll reports for accuracy, including earnings, taxes, deductions, and benefits.Prepare and process payroll-related journal entries in collaboration with the accounting team.Resolve payroll discrepancies by researching and correcting errors in a timely manner.Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee information is reflected in the payroll system.Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices regarding payroll processing.Assist in the preparation of year-end reports, including W-2 forms and tax filings.Prepare and submit payroll taxes and filings in accordance with federal and state regulations.Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.Provide excellent customer service by responding to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner. RequirementsProven experience as a Payroll Specialist with extensive experience using Costpoint software.Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.Proficiency in Costpoint Payroll or similar payroll software.Experience processing payroll for salaried, hourly, and contract employees.Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.Ability to handle sensitive employee information and maintain confidentiality.Knowledge of accounting principles related to payroll, journal entries, and financial reporting.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot payroll-related issues.Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively address employee inquiries and collaborate with other departments.
