What does a Payroll Specialist, Senior do? As a Senior Payroll Specialist you are responsible for completing payroll processing & all aspects associated with it. Reviewing, reconciling, auditing & balancing payroll documents/files to ensure practices are following company policy as well as regulatory guidelines. Providing customer service for all employees and third party vendors associated with all aspects of payroll. Training staff on new procedures and overseeing the preparation of special payrolls. You will do this by: Utilizing the payroll system to accurately calculate and process multiple weekly and semi-monthly employee payrolls. Maintaining accurate record keeping and supporting spreadsheets and documents for all filings and payments. Providing regular customer service and promptly addresses employee inquiries and resolving any payroll-related discrepancies. Completing internal and external reporting to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met. Producing ad hoc reports for various departments for Corporate requirements. Partnering with HRIS to update basic system configuration to support compliance changes and payroll processing. Ensuring specific compliance requirements are administered timely including but not limited to: DOL, IRS, FLSA, Federal & State regulations, garnishments, levies, court orders, company policy, direct deposit, W-4, escheated property, Sarbanes Oxley audit, internal procedures and record retention. Completing quarter-end and year-end balancing. Preparing for W-2 rollout and filings annually. Identifying opportunities for process improvement to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Serving on cross departmental teams and providing payroll support for project teams. Participating in and/or leads/rolls out new procedures/projects and improvements due to business changes, operational requirements, strategic initiatives, and legal requirements. Performing other duties as assigned.  You are the kind of person who has: Thorough knowledge of payroll practices including payroll rules, regulations & payroll tax withholding laws Strong written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with diverse group Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects Accurate data entry skills and strong math aptitude Ability to isolate and resolve problems within fixed time frames in a fast-paced environment Education High School diploma in equivalent education and experience
