Personal Injury Trial Attorney Seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Personal Injury Trial Attorney to manage a dynamic caseload involving personal injury, medical malpractice, and workers' compensation claims in New York. This role involves direct client engagement, representation at trials, mediations, and arbitrations, and extensive case preparation to ensure optimal client results in a competitive legal environment.
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year plus compensation from settled cases
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Handle a caseload of personal injury claims from initial intake through to trial.Attend court proceedings, including trials, mediations, and arbitrations.Negotiate settlements assertively and strategically.Conduct comprehensive trial preparations including strategy formulation and witness preparation.Perform depositions and respond to complex discovery demands.Initiate legal actions by gathering and analyzing evidence from various sources.Advise clients on legal rights and obligations, interpreting complex legal frameworks and precedents.Assess case merits, developing effective legal strategies tailored to each case.Regularly update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.Minimum Position Qualifications: Licensed to practice law in the state of New York.Minimum of 2 years' experience in plaintiff-side personal injury trials.Demonstrated history of managing personal injury cases with successful outcomes.Proven ability to handle extensive caseloads and meet deadlines.Strong attention to detail and superior written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with Medical Malpractice and Workers' Compensation claims.Proven record of negotiating high-value settlements.Experience in multi-district litigation or mass tort litigation is a plus.Skills: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in legal research.Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.Highly skilled in conflict resolution and negotiation.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Proficiency in legal database software and Microsoft Office suite.Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) plan with firm matching.Generous paid time off including vacation, sick days, and holidays.Continuing education and professional development reimbursement.Performance-based bonuses and a lucrative percentage from settled cases.
