Good Shepherd Services seeks a talented and motivated Photography Intern to work directly with the Senior Communications Manager.
In this role, you will capture beautiful images that showcase our organization's impact and the vibrant communities we serve across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Responsibilities: Photograph events, programs, and activities at Good Shepherd Services' locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.Work closely with the External Relations team to understand photography needs and requirements for various projects and campaigns.Capture high-quality, visually compelling photographs that accurately represent the organization's mission, values, and work.Ensure proper lighting, composition, and framing techniques are employed to produce professional-grade images.Manage and organize digital photo files.Assist with the selection and preparation of photographs for use in marketing materials, social media, website, and other promotional channels.Collaborate with program staff to ensure necessary releases and permissions have been signed for photos.Maintain a positive and respectful attitude when interacting with staff, participants, and community members during photography assignments. Qualifications: Must be currently pursuing or holding a degree in photography, visual arts, communications, or related field (or recent graduate).
Candidates with photography experience and strong interest will also be considered.Strong technical knowledge of digital photography, including camera operation and techniques.Excellent eye for composition and visual storytelling.Ability to work independently.Strong organizational and time management skills.Passionate about using photography to create social impact and raise awareness.Camera Requirements: Interns must provide their own digital camera equipment.
Acceptable camera types include DSLR, mirrorless, or advanced point-and-shoot cameras capable of manual settings.
