Responsibilities The Plumbing Engineer is responsible for the production of thorough and concise computer-generated engineering drawings;Create and prepare designs for plumbing and medical gas systems;Able to perform load calculations as well as product specifications;Coordinate and prepare schematic design, design development, and construction documents;Design plumbing systems including water, sanitary, storm, diesel distribution, natural gas distribution, medical gas, and specialty lab gas systems;Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings and prepare green rating system documentation;Assist in spatial coordination with architecture and other engineering systems;Deliver projects across multiple delivery models, including design/bid/build, design assist, design build;Process contractor submittals and RFIs;Perform on site condition surveys;Provide mentoring and direction to junior members of the project team or engineering discipline;Use technology and methodologies to create innovative approaches to building design;Consistently strive to improve technical quality of work product by keeping abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry;Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents, and insure integrated design approaches & solutions;Assist in the procurement of high-quality work; including marketing / proposal efforts and project interviews;Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on projects related to Government, Healthcare, Higher Education and Science & Technology;Maintain strong client relations as it pertains to project delivery and repeat business;Perform and maintain thorough QA/QC on all phases of projects.Qualifications Professional Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architecture Engineering required;EIT required and the ability to sit for P.E. License within 12 months;5+ years of experience;LEED AP BD+C preferred;Familiarity with BIM;Maintain technical competence by staying current on appropriate codes and technologies;Proficient in the use of state-of-the-art tools for engineering design and documentation, including Revit;Thorough understanding of plumbing engineering systems;General understanding of engineering principles and systems within other disciplines;Monitors & manages project budgets to ensure cost effective delivery;Expertise in an area of concentration;Effective communication skills (written and oral);Demonstrated thoroughness in design coordination and contract document development in plumbing systems for commercial and/or industrial buildings;Demonstrated record of consistent quality work;Able to work with little or no supervision;Ability to foster teamwork;Business development capabilities, commercial/financial awareness;Demonstrated knowledge in sustainable building design.Base Compensation: $90,000 - $125,000
