POSITION SUMMARY: The Policy Analyst is responsible for researching strategies to advance the policy interests of Planned Parenthood in Florida. This includes policy monitoring and analysis. They monitor legislation, regulations and policy initiatives to protect and promote access to reproductive health care and sexual health education. The position is remote and does not require travel.
\n ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILITIES:Conducts primary research of legislative, regulatory, and other policy information.Conducts basic assessments of applicability and reliability of collected information and obtains relevant information as needed.May communicate and/or conduct follow-ups with policy makers to collect project-related information as needed.Conducts background research and literature reviews to support project development and analytic activities.Drafts analysis, presentations and reports.Supports the qualitative and quantitative analysis of policy information and other research activities.Represents Planned Parenthood's mission and policy positions when speaking to external audiences.Monitors legislative development and activities and provides Planned Parenthood affiliates with the latest information regarding legislative activity.Assists the Director in monitoring state health policies, rules and regulations and working collaboratively with operations teams to identify impacts to Planned Parenthood business in Florida.Drafts initial policy analyses, summaries and talking points on Planned Parenthood issues for members of the legislature, their staff, affiliates and coalition partners.Ensure compliance with the conditions of 501(c) (3) guidelines for approved activities and all other legal compliance and reporting requirements.Protects the confidentiality of Planned Parenthood clients, donors, board, and all areas of operation. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited college or university in Women's Studies, Political Science, Public Policy or another closely related field.A minimum of 1-year relevant work experience.Superior written and verbal communication skills.Experience creating and executing detailed work plans and coordinating multiple stakeholders. Final salary will be commensurate with experience.
