POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing support to attract agricultural and commercial loans, including calling on existing borrowers and new prospects, evaluating applications and financial data, reviewing loan documents, and closing loans. The person in this position will help monitor the ongoing financial status of individual lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with Ag/Commercial Lender(s) to attract both new and existing borrowers with a goal of increasing the bank's overall loan portfolio and improving penetration into the trade territory that the bank serves.Assist in the collection and analyze financial data to determine the creditworthiness of the applicant.Accurately analyze business and personal financial statements along with Agriculture and Commercial Business financial trending. This includes global analysis, ratio analysis, and cashflow analysis.Monitor existing loan portfolio by keeping in contact with customers to ensure complete conformity with the terms of the loan and to be cognizant of developing trends.Willing and able to communicate with borrowers on behalf of the lender to collect necessary financial information and to articulate and describe the documents needed for analysis.Work with the Ag/Commercial Lenders, Loan Assistants, and/or Credit Analysts to gather supporting documentation as necessary for pending applications and ongoing customer loan files.Ensure that the needs of other lending team members are being met while relying heavily on each other to serve the bank's customers.Participate in community activities to increase the bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities. Participate in bank-sponsored events as outlined in the financial institution's "Community Events Program."Perform additional duties as assigned by management.DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: High level of interpersonal skills in dealing with bank customers, bank staff, and outside vendors.Working knowledge of rules and regulations related to agricultural and commercial lending.Ability to work in an environment with sensitive information, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.Proven record of problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex credits.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under pressure.Strong work ethic, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficient in basic computer skills using Microsoft Office products, along with the ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize new technology.Ability to train additional Relationship Manager staff members.QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance or 4 years of equivalent experience in a lending environment.
