My Client is looking for a Practice Leader - Landscape Architecture & Planning to drive the growth and leadership of our landscape architecture studios in Texas.
This person can be situated in Dallas, Houston or Austin.
This role will focus on developing client relationships and overseeing the design and permitting of landscape architecture, land development, and planning projects statewide.
This leader will build on our well-established, award-winning landscape architecture practice, which spans over two decades and includes 13 studios nationwide.
In this position, you'll be essential in advancing the firms expansion in Texas, with opportunities to grow our portfolio in areas such as waterfront projects, urban revitalization, streetscapes, smart growth and community design, commercial and retail site development, healthcare and university campus planning, rooftop gardens, green infrastructure, and brownfield redevelopment.

Job Responsibilities Partner with firm and leadership to design, update, and carry out strategic growth plansExpand the LA+P brand across Texas and the Southwest, increasing the team's landscape architecture expertise in the regionLead efforts to identify and engage new clients, expand existing project opportunities, and attend client meetings to foster long-term business relationshipsBuild professional networks across Texas offices and the LA+P leadership, actively participating in the planning, design, and permitting of landscape architecture and land development projectsOversee and mentor future leaders and junior staff, supporting their development and growthCoach, guide, and energize a team of landscape architects, while supervising and approving project workDrive workforce planning, recruitment, and hiring efforts for the Texas studiosManage studio and project financials, including budgeting, invoicing, and collectionsGain expertise in the firms services to promote cross-selling and ensure seamless project coordinationTake on additional tasks as needed Qualifications
More than 15 years of successful experience in landscape architecture and planning, with a focus on site development for projects of varying scalesA well-established network of regional clients, complemented by strong skills in client development and managementA genuine passion for design excellence, aimed at creating inspiring environments while providing top-notch service to clientsA valid professional landscape architect license in Texas is mandatory; licenses in other states are a plusA proven history of active engagement in professional organizationsPrior management experience with the ability to nurture, lead, and develop team membersSkilled in writing reports and proposals, as well as managing contracts, billing, and budgetsExceptional attention to design details, coupled with strong analytical and judgment skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamBachelor's degree in landscape architecture is required; a Master's degree is desirable
