The Principal Product Manager (PM) within the Software BU plays a critical role in defining and prioritizing the features and functionalities of NI's Test software products to ensure they align with business objectives and meet the needs of stakeholders. The PM collaborates closely with stakeholders, development teams, and other key roles to drive the successful delivery of valuable features and workflows within NI's flagship application software products. As the PM for LabVIEW, you'll have the opportunity to continue to drive 35+ years of innovation in NI's flagship software product. You'll solve complex problems that our customers experience in their engineering workflows, with a focus on our Electronics, Electromechanical and Embedded SW Test application areas. Internally, you will champion the needs of our 35,000 customers and collaborate with teams across R&D, the Business Units and several other functions to achieve our business goals and improve our customers' experience. Externally, you will be the face of LabVIEW, interviewing customers, sharing roadmaps, and communicating how NI is bringing our vision for the future to life in our products. A successful LabVIEW Product Manager will define and implement software capabilities which are easy to sell, easy to deliver outcome-based added value to customers, and add to BUs' profitability. Additionally, you will have a key role in defining the future of our Test Software platform and how it intersects with growing trends in Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and human-in-the-loop models of software abstraction. What you will do in this role: Understand market trends and the competitive landscape, with an in-depth understanding of LabVIEW, and create a product vision while prioritizing new features and requirements Act as a domain expert and understand the individual customer requirements carefully to create functional specifications, use cases, mock-ups and other documents required for the development team to get going. Explain functional requirements to the development team Ensure solutions are designed and developed effectively to meet the business objectives of the end user Validate/test the newly developed features and their impact on existing features. Demonstrate these new features to key stakeholders and get their feedback Work with UX team to create a pleasant user experience Act as the hub of the stakeholders for the application, interfacing with the customers, sales, consulting and development teams Act as an SME to reviews the training material and product documentation Supports BU Business Management in marketing and sales strategies including pricing, sales enablement, and customer training. Help Sales, Solutions Marketing, CCS and BU teams to support RFPs, RFQs, ongoing implementations and customer demos (preparation / delivery) As SME, act as the first respondent for any functional queries or issues from internal and external teams Required Qualifications: Experience: 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Business Development Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. Strong communication with ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. Familiarity with LabVIEW, along with NI's test hardware and software products Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering strategy and value that will drive results. Demonstrated track record of creating a business case for product investments and defining metrics to track performance over time. Able to take ambiguous goals and turn them into clear action plans Strong collaboration in and outside of project team; influences without direct authority. Experience in AI, machine learning, or related fields Travel – up to 25% to global sites and customer locations as needed. Preferred Qualifications Living within a commutable distance to Austin, TX.
