Role Purpose Statement: The Freight Accrual process is a method of calculating and tracking the shipment cost, whose bill is yet not generated. This process helps in keeping the territory regulations of Mexico where the third party is paying the actual freight at borders, which is later claimed and settled. It also maintains a record of all shipments whose accrual is yet to be paid.
Responsibilities include invoice management, freight accruals, SAP ticketing, and collaboration with Bunge sales personnel and product management. This is an individual contributor role with responsibilities for generating shipping costs, validating P&L for freight accruals, and auditor quotes.
The key objective for the role is to ensure best-in-class operational delivery to the business, perform internal customer liaising, and support transformation initiatives to create efficient processes, reduce costs, and drive customer centricity.
The role will work closely with Bunge business teams, BBS centers, global functional leads, global process owners, BBS transformation team, and delivery leads to achieve objectives.
Main Accountabilities: Perform total freight accrual, including invoicing, ticket creation within preset margin goals, shipment planning, and system entry in SAP in a timely manner.Generate shipment costs in the system for final cost management by the accounts team.Understand shipment policy and procedures related to freight accruals, ticket entry, and approval process.Manage invoice reversals in the system and liaise with the onshore team.Validate P&L for freight accruals and auditor quotes.Run and monitor daily invoices and P&L reports to identify input errors or data gaps affecting freight accrual pricing and resolve issues accordingly.Understand Bunge North America/Bunge Milling Molinos supply chain and operational objectives related to sales forecasts and capacity constraints.Collaborate with the team to provide total quality service to customers, sales, customer service teams, and plant operations.Understand the settlement process for the final goal of accrual activities.Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Knowledge & Education/Background: 1 – 3 years of work experience in a similar role, preferably in agribusiness/commodity trading industry.Minimum education qualification: Bachelor's in Commerce, IB, or equivalent degree.Previous customer service experience with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships; previous sales experience is a plus.Familiarity with shipping fundamentals, shipping cost management, freight management, supply management, and SAP.Skills and Experience: Strong analytical and mathematical skills.Proven track record of interfacing and collaborating with global teams.Experience working in a global shared services environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Excel knowledge.Working knowledge of SAP.Bunge (NYSE: BG) is a world leader in sourcing, processing, and supplying oilseed and grain products and ingredients.
