The CRO Data Governance team's mission is to establish mechanisms to ensure the Right Data is available, in the Right Place, at the Right Time, to the Right People, in a secure and compliant way.
To achieve this mission, the CRO Data Governance team collaborates with other functions across Bloomberg, including Legal and Compliance, Engineering, Data, Products, CISO, and CTO in designing and implementing a data management framework, control processes and tools, and supporting training and awareness.
In our continued effort to unlock the potential of our data at scale, we are seeking a Data Catalog Product Owner.
With focus on capturing high quality metadata, this role will be critical in supporting our business users, engineers, and analysts as they seek to find and explore our data assets to meet the needs of our customers and business.
We'll trust you to: Define requirements and consistent implementation of Data Classification Collaborate across risk and control teams, including information security, engineering, legal, privacy, and compliance to define Data Classification requirements and technical roadmaps to satisfy strategic, regulatory, and privacy requirements Engage with Engineering to prioritize remediation of identified gaps and new feature enhancements to satisfy business requirements and regulatory expectations Track coverage of Data Classification, and define plans to increase coverage through automated discovery and validation Monitor data classification rules and environment scanning performance Develop and deliver Data Classification training to key stakeholders Identify opportunities for process optimization and control automation leveraging Data Classification to ensure the ongoing confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data You'll need to have: 5-7 years' experience in risk management, with at least 3 years in Data Management Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related discipline Hands-on experience with Data Classification tools (e.g., BigID, Collibra, Informatica, Varonis), and options for developing and implementing preventative controls Strong understanding of application and data security Basic SQL scripting, relational database, no-SQL database, and data modeling Experience with public cloud and software-as-a-service APIs Experience with working in agile development environment Diversified experience of technology, operations, privacy, regulatory compliance, and risk management Knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and trading lifecycle Strong problem-solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and on a team Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment We'd love to see: Individuals who are passionate about all things Risk and are genuinely excited about playing their part in helping build a best-in-class program DCAM or DAMA certification Strong understanding of privacy requirements (i.e., GDPR, CCPA, et al) Agile and/or Project Management certification (SAFe, PMP) Does this sound like you?
