Wealth Strategies & Planning Tools (WSPT) is a team within Morgan Stanley's Global Investment Office (GIO) dedicated to Wealth Management's ultra-high net-worth and institutional clients. The team has two mandates:
1) Client Strategy – Consult on live client and prospect cases from the PWM, Graystone, OCIO, and MS Family Office channels, devising holistic investment and wealth planning strategies
2) Product Development – Build and enhance a platform of proprietary investment tools leveraged by financial advisor teams
WSPT frequently addresses asset allocation and estate planning strategies, but also gets involved in a variety of complex situations including advanced wealth planning, employee stock options, private equity commitments, single stock strategies and structured products.
Role:
The Product Development team of WSPT is seeking an individual to join as a Product Owner supporting our platform of ultra-high net worth and institutional investing tools. This is a unique opportunity to be introduced to the technology and software development space at Morgan Stanley, where you will collaborate directly with financial advisors, internal business units and technology to manage, improve and scale our enterprise offering.
The product owner will own all workflow and implementation decisions for their silo of products. This involves collaborating on frameworks with the other product owners, socializing possible solutions with stakeholders and field users, communicating requirements and acceptance criteria with Technology, and testing that all implementation is carried out correctly. This would be a hybrid role between Purchase / New York City.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree is required
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience – preferably project or product management
• Strong communication skills and an ability to operate cross-functionally, managing multiple projects with varying timelines
• General understanding of global financial markets, asset allocation, and portfolio construction
• Very strong attention to detail
• Experience with JIRA is a strong plus
• Series 7 and 66 licensed required or willingness to obtain upon hire

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
