Production Supervisor
A growing chemical company that has thrived for over 50 years in the Cleveland area providing commodity materials and blending services to a wide variety of industries including, but not limited to construction, manufacturing, and specialty chemicals. A Confidential Company is seeking an experienced production person for a chemical production supervisor position to join our team.
The production supervisor would work under the direction of the second shift production manager to motivate and mentor the production team in processing customer orders while enforcing company and OSHA safety policies and procedures. The production supervisor is an essential part of the production team and is relied on to drive cultural focus on safety and producing quality materials for customer demand.
Essential Duties and responsibilities:
· As part of the production team, work with a group of 5-15 personnel to fulfill customer orders
· Utilize production reports with order specific notes and batch/repack information to fill customer orders
· Become familiar with products and customer specific procedures.
· Supervise and participate in the production of customer orders.
· Load and unload van trailers, bulk tanker trailers, railcars and etc. as needed.
· Ensure production personnel receive direction/instructions.
· collaborate with other departments to fulfill customer orders that require components from different production areas.
· Maintain inventory using warehouse/production management software and hardware
· Complete shift reports and production completion paperwork, properly.
· Maintain a clean work environment.
· Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
· Under direction from EHS and management, assist in facilitating the training of operation's personnel to comply with EPA, OSHA, DOT and other regulatory agencies.
· All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualities Required:
· Knowledge and experience with ERP software (Datacor C/S)
· Experience with warehouse/production management software and hardware
· GED or High School Diploma
· Associates degree in Business or manufacturing (Preferred)
· Understand basic OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures
· 2+ year of supervisory experience
· Able to pass company wellness exam
· Ability to be exposed to year-round natural elements for extended periods of time
· Forklift experience
· Lift/carry 50 lbs. for 100 ft
· Able to scale heights exceeding 15+ ft without issue
· Mechanical aptitude
· Able to use Microsoft software: Excel, office and etc.
· Ability to formulate a plan to complete shift workload efficiently
· Experience with Warehouse management software/hardware
