Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION
The Strategy Enablement Project Professional will help to develop the framework for and lead project management activities across the Strategy Enablement team in partnership with the team. This includes establishing governance frameworks, standardizing processes and approaches, and aligning project portfolios with strategic goals to ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality project delivery. This position is responsible for planning and managing projects of various sizes and complexity; being accountable for end-to-end delivery of a project including managing the cost/budget, schedule & dependencies, resources, scope, quality, and risk; ensuring the work of the project is aligned with the stated business objectives; providing a blend of project and HR/business acumen to drive the design, development and implementation of strategic HR projects; setting and managing customer expectations; and developing and maintaining relationships with project stakeholders to obtain project objectives while working in a matrix project environment; driving deliverables and activities and escalating risk/issues. Additionally, this role will facilitate the project staffing and prioritization process in concert with HR strategy, assigning Strategy Enablement resources (i.e., project managers, generalists, and functional SMEs) to prioritized projects and enlisting expert support (i.e., HRBPs, COEs, journeys, HR Tech, or change management/communications) as well as train project managers on the team in skills, tools, and best practices to build project management capabilities within the team.
NOTE: relocation will NOT be extended, sponsorship is NOT available and this role is hybrid/flex and requires in-office visibility three days per week.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree with 4 years project management experience
OR
PMP Certification or college courses
with
5 years project management experience
OR
8 years' project management experience.
Familiarity and experience with Project Management Methodologies (i.e. Project Management Institute-PMBOK) and demonstrable experience in project delivery and management of large and/or complex projects.
Experience in coaching and development and meeting facilitation.
Advanced project management skills and knowledge of project financial tracking including monitoring and reporting on budget expenditures.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong meeting facilitation skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; agility and flexibility to adapt to constantly changing priorities.
Ability to create integrated, milestone-driven critical path project plans.
Capacity to travel to/from other HCSC locations with overnight stays as necessary in support of work assignments.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus.
Human Resource acumen and HCSC experience.
Comfort/poise with presenting to senior management.
Strong leadership skills.
KEY JOB ESSENTIALS TO CONSIDER:
Establish and maintain project management governance frameworks, methodologies, and standards to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality across all Strategy Enablement projects.
Oversee the Strategy Enablement project portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Evaluate and prioritize incoming project requests, prioritize evaluated project requests via prioritization tool and alignment with HCSC strategy, suggest resource allocation.
Directly oversee project management for a subset of prioritized projects, including both Strategy Enablement projects as well as select projects of strategic importance across HR.
Create/build/update project schedules, Project Charters, Project Plans, and Status Reports and work breakdown structures. Realistically anticipate/identify resource needs, including artifact needs and project team and expertise. Set priorities, define dependencies, schedule activities, prepare acceptance criteria and organize work. Utilize project management tools.
Create/implement project organization and communication plans which enable the project team to effectively work together to meet project objectives. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, staff and management on a timely basis on status, issues, risks, project goals, objectives, and any other relevant information. Prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes, distribute meeting documentation, and maintain and monitor Action Item listings. Compile information for presentations for Senior Leadership as needed. Assess and quantify project risks and document mitigation and contingency plans.
