Purchasing Assistant

Position Summary:




To assist the Purchasing manager in directing, managing work folders for all jobs, assist in the management of all the activities of the materials purchasing, and quality control.




Essential Functions:




Review and ensure correctness of jobs prior to purchasing material.


Assist in the completion of rebuild material, communicate with the project coordinator about any issues or back orders of material


Pulling together all information necessary for trucks to be delivered and or picked up.


Work close with material vendors on orders and back orders of material


Work close with tool vendors on weekly orders.


Assist in data collection including rebuild jobs.


Continuous evaluation and implementation of company processes to maximize efficiencies within the purchasing segment.


Make sure all information is correct when ordering and receiving material.


Any other task assigned by Manager




Experience:




Administrative or clerical experience


Previous Purchasing experience preferred




Skills & Abilities:




Positive, self-driven and motivated.


Great communication and interpersonalskills


Ability to function inside a team and lead as required


Attention to detail and strong organizational skills


Strong technical writing, computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft office


Ability to prioritize and multi-task




Physical Requirements:




The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally, the job requires 85% sitting, 10% walking, and 5% standing.
