Your Impact
The Quality Engineer will be handling internal and external customer complaints, measuring, and analyzing data quality, driving quality and identifying and implementing process improvements using problem solving process (PSP), root cause analysis, and other tools. You will report to the Quality Manager and will drive continuous process improvement and reduce external and internal DPM. This role will involve being the subject matter expert for a specific area of the manufacturing floor while maintaining daily quality responsibilities.
Here's where you'll demonstrate your proficiencies:
Investigate, analyze, and prioritize quality and process issues and implement proven countermeasures
Drive the reduction of external quality nonconformances through Problem Solving Process (PSP) and by holding weekly meetings with relevant departments
Works closely with operational personnel to identify and resolve production related challenges
Produce and continually review standard work instructions for manufacturing cells
Drive automation, development of new methods, tooling, automation, and test systems to reduce cycle time and improve quality and productivity
Actively working with suppliers to improve Supplier Quality
Host and lead customer visits and factory audits.
Coordinates Kaizen (continuous improvement) activities with special emphasis on standard work, one-piece flow, visual controls and 5S.
Maintain ISO 9001 certification and perform internal Audits
Maintain work area in accordance with established housekeeping procedures to ensure a safe and clean work environment
Performs similar, comparable or any other reasonable duty as required
Qualifications - External
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
BS Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
Proven ability to work in a field focusing on product Quality in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001 or similar, and performing internal and external audits
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to Interpret Electrical and mechanical drawings
Experience with Microsoft Access, Visual Basic and metrology is nice to have but not required
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies
Working Conditions: (especially manufacturing and field service positions)
Office and Factory environment.
Safety glasses required while on factory floor
Some overtime may be required
